Dental X-ray (RVG) – 10–15 EUR
Decay between teeth, under a filling or at the root cannot be seen by eye, so we use a digital intraoral X-ray (RVG) for diagnosis. The image appears on screen immediately, and the radiation dose is up to 10 times lower than film X-ray; one image is comparable to a few hours of natural background radiation. A single-tooth image costs 10–15 EUR and is needed before root canal treatment, extraction and implants, and when a tooth hurts but it is not clear which one. For pregnant patients we take X-rays only for acute pain and with a protective apron. We do not take panoramic or 3D (CBCT) scans; when one is needed, for example before implants or a complex wisdom-tooth extraction, we refer you to a radiology centre and plan on that basis.
