Prosthetics restores one damaged tooth or replaces several missing ones with a crown, a bridge, a removable denture or implant-supported teeth. At Laurus Dent plus a crown costs from 190 EUR and a removable denture from 300 EUR; most cases take 2–3 visits over 2–3 weeks. Treatment in English. Book: +371 22428688.
When you need prosthetics
- a tooth is broken, worn down or so heavily filled that a new filling will not hold;
- after root canal treatment – a crown protects the brittle tooth from cracking;
- one or more teeth are missing – neighbours start to drift, the opposing tooth over-erupts, chewing becomes one-sided;
- many or all teeth are missing – a removable denture or implant-supported teeth;
- you are unhappy with the shape or colour of front teeth – an aesthetic crown.
Types of prosthetics: which one to choose
Crowns and bridges
A crown is a cap that fully covers a damaged tooth; a bridge is several joined crowns that replace a missing tooth, supported by the neighbours. Fixed, and they look and work like your own teeth. They last 10–15 years and longer with regular care. A crown from 190 EUR; a bridge costs the number of crowns times the crown price.
Materials and prices in detail: dental crowns.
Removable dentures
The solution when many teeth are missing or there is nothing to support a bridge. A partial denture replaces several teeth and clips onto your own; a full denture replaces the whole arch. Materials: acrylic (the classic plate), flexible nylon, or a soft material for sensitive gums. 300–885 EUR depending on type and material. The usual choice for older patients and for anyone who is not a candidate for implants.
Implant-supported prosthetics
If an implant (Straumann, 750 EUR) is placed where the tooth is missing, a zirconia crown goes on top (850 EUR). Neighbouring teeth are not ground down and the bone does not shrink. When all teeth are missing, a removable denture can be anchored on 2–4 implants so it no longer moves.
Dental bridges: types and cost
A bridge replaces one or two missing teeth by resting on the neighbouring teeth, which receive crowns. It is fixed, made in 7–14 days and lasts 10–15 years. A bridge suits you when the teeth on both sides of the gap are sound; if they are healthy and you would rather not grind them, the alternative is an implant.
- Metal-ceramic bridge – the strongest option for chewing teeth: 370 EUR per crown, a three-unit bridge 1,110 EUR.
- Zirconia bridge – metal-free, natural colour, suitable for front teeth too: 600 EUR per crown, a three-unit bridge 1,800 EUR.
- Implant-supported bridge – when several teeth in a row are missing and you want to keep the neighbours untouched: implants (750 EUR each) plus crowns on implants (850 EUR each).
A bridge always costs the number of crowns times the crown price; the final quote is given at the consultation (from 20 EUR) and does not change during treatment.

How it works
- Consultation and X-ray. The dentist assesses your teeth, bone and bite and proposes 1–2 options with prices. If hygiene or root canal treatment is needed, it comes first.
- Preparation and impressions. The tooth is shaped for the crown, impressions or a scan are taken. Anaesthesia 10 EUR. 60–90 minutes.
- Temporary crown. While the laboratory makes the permanent one, you wear a temporary crown – the tooth is protected and looks normal.
- Laboratory. 7–14 days. The shade is matched to your teeth.
- Fitting and cementation. We check bite, contacts and colour, then cement the crown. A removable denture needs 1–2 fitting visits.
- Follow-up. After 1–2 weeks we check how it performs and adjust if anything presses.
Aftercare
Crowns and bridges are cleaned like your own teeth: brush twice a day, floss or an interdental brush at the crown margin, a hygiene visit every 6 months. Mild sensitivity in the first days is normal.
Removable dentures: adaptation takes 2–4 weeks – more saliva and some difficulty speaking at first, which passes. Remove and brush the denture with a soft brush after every meal and keep it in water or cleaning solution overnight. If it rubs or moves, come in for an adjustment; do not adjust it yourself. If a denture breaks or becomes loose, book a consultation and we will assess whether a new one is needed.
